It all makes sense to me now.

I'm glad I wasn't there.
I didn't know she'd had cancer.
I still don't know what kind.
Or where it ate away at her body.
I didn't ask.
I can't picture anything harming her.
I can't picture that with one of the strongest women I know.

The empathy she now carries.
